Nelson Agholor First PDQ Team Member to win Super Bowl

When PDQ founders Bob Basham and Nick Reader decided to open the first PDQ in South Tampa in late 2011, they were looking for the best team members to help introduce the new brand to the Tampa Bay area. That search led them to Nelson Agholor, who at the time was a star running back, wide receiver, and defensive back for Berkeley Preparatory School.

PDQ gave Agholor his first job and the brand has since opened more than 60 stores in 11 states. For Agholor, it was the start of a career that culminated on Sunday night as he and his teammates brought the first Super Bowl title to the city of Philadelphia. The Eagles wide receiver tied for a game-high with nine receptions, for 84 yards, in Philadelphia's 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

"We are extremely proud of Nelson for the hard work that we saw here at PDQ, which has carried over to his career in the National Football League," said PDQ CEO and Co-Founder Nick Reader. "Nelson is a very special young man who has a tremendous determination and we are thrilled for him and his family."

Agholor, who was born in Nigeria, moved to the United States when he was five years old. After a brilliant career at Berkeley, Agholor was an All-American and All Pac-12 honoree at the University of Southern California before being selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Eagles. Agholor had a breakout season in 2017, totaling career-highs in receptions (62), including 35 for first downs, yards (768) and touchdowns (8), tied for second on the team.
