PDQ and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida are teaming up to give back during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From September 20 through September 30, guests to any of PDQ’s eight Orlando area locations can round up their check or make a donation, with all money raised being given directly to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to assist those in need in the local community. PDQ will be also donating thousands of dollars in food for the food bank to distribute locally.

“We are so thankful to PDQ for this partnership to continue to help us in our commitment to help make sure that as much food as possible can reach those who are struggling,” said Greg Higgerson, Chief Development Officer.

“We are proud to partner with our friends at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, who make a tremendous impact in the local community,” said Nick Reader, PDQ CEO and Co-Founder. “Their support is critical during this time of need and we are excited our guests and Team Members can show we are People Dedicated to Quality and make a difference with this initiative.”

The Orlando SODO location, at 3187 S. Orange Avenue, will also feature drive-thru entertainment from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, including a local musician and live radio remote, to kick off the giveback initiative.

About Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Last year, with the help of numerous donors, volunteers and a caring, committed community, the food bank distributed enough food for 76 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes. In addition to helping feed the line of our neighbors who need help, Second Harvest also transforms dozens of lives directly every year.  Economically-challenged adults who graduate from our 16-week culinary training program are placed in ‘better than minimum wage’ jobs that set them and their families on a path to self-sustainability.  Yet another important activity helps connect people who are eligible to receive SNAP food assistance benefits with the resources they need to access the program and get help.
