The Duke Children’s Health Center includes specialty clinics, a pediatric endoscopy and procedure suite, a pediatric perioperative suite, an outpatient pharmacy, and the Jim Valvano Day Hospital for children and adolescents receiving chemotherapy and other outpatient infusions. We are committed to achieving and maintaining a standard of excellence in all we do. Most importantly, we consistently strive to make the patient experience a model of quality care through advanced treatment, compassionate support, and full family participation and communication.
Our mission is to provide:
Excellence in the clinical care of infants and children
Innovation in basic and applied research
Leadership in the education of health care professionals
Advocacy for children's health
Patient and family centered care
Our commitment to patient and family centered care guides our everyday interactions, and is the framework for our planning and program development. We believe that bringing together health care providers, patients, and families in daily, ongoing partnerships—to share information, make decisions, participate in care and exchange ideas—results in better outcomes, higher quality, and improved safety.
