Updated: Thanks to the generosity of our guests, PDQ donated a total of 413 pounds, which will provide over 344 meals to the community.
PDQ and the
Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina are teaming up to host a food drive this December at its four Raleigh-area locations.
From December 16-31, guests to PDQ are encouraged to bring canned food or dried food items with them when they visit PDQ’s restaurants in Cary, Durham, Raleigh or Wake Forest. Guests who bring in an item will receive a free PDQ card good for their choice of three chicken tenders or a sandwich, valid to be redeemed through the end of February 2023. There is a one card limit per person per day.
In demand items include:
• Canned fruits
• Canned vegetables
• Canned meats
• Canned beans
• Canned Dairy
• Cereal and oatmeal
• Pastas
• Rice
• Dried fruits
• Dried beans
• Lentils
• Nut butters
• Nuts, seeds, trail mix, and granola bars
All food items collected during the drive will be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for friends and neighbors facing hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for over 40 years. The Food Bank is an affiliate member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity. In terms of total food distributed, the Food Bank ranks in the top 15 nationally among 200 Feeding America food banks and first in North Carolina.
