Our PDQ teams in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area are excited to team up with our good friends at the Mini Doughnut Factory to raise money on National Doughnut Day this Friday, June 1.

The Mini Doughnut Factory will “doughnate” a percentage of the day’s proceeds from both the original store in Tampa, located at 2109 S Dale Mabry Hwy, as well as the new store location in St. Petersburg at 730 4th Street North to the Salvation Army’s Children’s Services programs. Additionally, founders Zezura and Patrick Ruddell will also deliver doughnuts to the children and staff at Salvation Army’s Sally’s House and Children’s Village in St. Petersburg, FL on Thursday, May 31st. Mini Doughnut Factory will also work with PDQ to create and offer a special doughnut featuring PDQ’s famous fresh hand-breaded chicken tenders.

“Our PDQ team is proud to partner with Patrick and Ze to help support a great cause,” said Nick Reader, PDQ CEO and Co-Founder. “We are huge fans of Mini Doughnut Factory and hope everyone will help us support this great initiative.”

A recognized national holiday, National Doughnut Day was originally created to honor women that served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I who were known as the Salvation Army Lassies. According to Ashley Ramsey, Assistant Director of Development for the Salvation Army, “We are thrilled to be working with Zezura and Patrick for the second year in row. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the partnership and promotion with the Mini Doughnut Factory. They continue to be a great community partner to us and many others, and we have this day marked on our calendars for months in advance!”

The Mini Doughnut Factory is one of the country’s first full-sized retail locations dedicated to made-to-order custom topped mini doughnuts, providing a family-friendly environment that is modern and inviting to all. “When we first opened the Mini Doughnut Factory, Ze (Zezura) and I wanted to make sure we always looked for ways to be involved in and support the community,” said Mini Doughnut Factory founder and operator Patrick Ruddell. “Partnering with the Salvation Army on National Doughnut Day brings us back to our roots, and at the end of the day is just plain fun.”

The public is encouraged to join in the celebration by purchasing doughnuts in the South Tampa and St. Pete stores on Friday, June 1st. benefiting the Salvation Army’s efforts.
